Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2008 - Māori Language Week
Māori Language Week will be celebrated 21 - 27 July 2008.
Originally the week occurred around the time of Māori Language Day (September 14). It was moved to its current time to fit with the school year.
Te Wiki o te Reo Māori provides a time for special events to celebrate and promote the Māori language. More recently awards have been given to groups that make a particularly noteworthy contribution at this time.
The theme for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2008 - Māori Language Week is 'Te Reo i te Kāinga - Māori Language in the Home.' Watch out for the special 'Kōrero Māori - Give it a go!' booklet later this year that will support you to kōrero Māori at home.
