Maori Keyboard Installation
Step 1
Click on folder icon below to
download the Māori (Te Taura Whiri) Keyboard Definition zip file.
 Step 2
Double click the downloaded zip file to open it up.
Step 3
Double click the executable file icon which looks like this:

Step 4
After a few seconds you will see this box come up and it should read - installation complete.

Step 5
To add the keyboard go to the start icon
in the bottom left of your screen.
Step 6
Once you have opened the menu by clicking on the start icon, select the
Control Panel option on the right hand side which looks like this.

Double click the Regional and Language
Options Icon

which looks like this

Step 8
Select Languages Tab , then click Details.
Step 9
Click add

Step 10
- Tick Keyboard layout/IME scroll.
- Then select New Zealand – Māori (Te Taura Whiri)
- Click ok
 Step

- In the Default input language scroll and select
- English (New Zealand) - New Zealand – Māori (Te Taura Whiri)
- Click ok

Step 12
Open a word document
Press left bracket (next to the letter p} nothing should happen
until you press a vowel
[ + a = ā
[ + e = ē
[ + i = ī
[ + o = ō
[ + u = ū
Capitals work the same press left bracket and then shift or caps lock and
then the vowel.
