Māori Keyboard Windows 7 Installation ( 64 bit systems )
The Te Taura Whiri keyboard will not work on a 64 bit system
Windows 7 comes with it's own Māori keyboard
To add the keyboard go to the start icon
in the bottom left of your screen.
Once you have opened the menu by clicking on the start icon, select the
Control Panel option on the right hand side which looks like this.
Click Change keyboards or other input methods


Click Change keyboards

Click Add

Check show more

Scroll to and check Māori
Click ok

Click the drop down and select English (New Zealand) – Māori
Click Apply

English (New Zealand) – Māori should now be
the Default input language? Click ok

Open a word document
Press tilde ~ ( Left of the
number 1} nothing should happen
until you press a vowel
~ + a = ā
~ + e = ē
~ + i = ī
~ + o = ō
~ + u = ū
Capitals work the same press left bracket and then shift or caps lock and
then the vowel.
