E whakamihia ana e ngā tohu ngā karangatanga e pā ana ki te hapori, ki te ao pāpāho, ki te ao mātauranga, ki te Kāwanatanga matua tae atu ki ngā gāwanatanga ā-rohe, ki te hangarau ā-mati, ki ngā whakaputanga tānga me te rāngai tūmatanui.

Ngā Tohu Reo Māori is an annual event held to celebrate initiatives and excellence in te reo Māori. It includes a gala dinner and entertainment. The event will be livestreamed.

 The awards also reinforce the commitment of organisations working on revitalisation and attract a range of sponsors taking the opportunity to showcase and reward people and groups working to revitalize te reo Māori in their fields linked to their business or activities.

The 2019 awards will be held in Auckland.

Date

The 15th Ngā Tohu Reo Māori, the Māori Language Awards, will be held on 6 December (evening).

Opening and closing dates will be announced soon. 100 or more nominations overall are expected.

Nominators will be asked to identify the contribution made by their entry to the revitalisation categories of
